Canadian Celebrities Plans Haiti Telethon

Celine Dion, Justin Bieber, James Cameron and Nelly Furtado are to compliment George Clooney's Haiti telethon on Friday night with a Canada For Haiti special.

While Clooney and Haitian superstar Wyclef Jean lead Help For Haiti Now, a host of celebrity Canadians are planning their own TV benefit.

The one-hour, commercial-free special will air live across Canada from Toronto.

The impressive line-up also includes The Tragically Hip, Sarah McLachlan, Barenaked Ladies, Simple Plan, acclaimed songwriter David Foster, Chantal Kreviazuk, Michael J. Fox, Ryan Reynolds, William Shatner and Pamela Anderson.

Funds raised during the telethon will go to a coalition of Canadian charities, including Canadian Red Cross Society, Care Canada, Oxfam Canada and UNICEF Canada.
