LADY GAGA AND KATY PERRY SCORE MTV EUROPE MUSIC AWARD NOMINATIONS

Lady Gaga and Katy Perry lead this year's MTV Europe Music Awards with five nominations each. They're competing against each other in four categories, including best pop act, best song, best female act and best video. In addition, Lady Gaga is up for best live act and Katy Perry's in the running for best world stage performance. Eminem scored four nominations including best song, best male act, best hip hop and best video for his Rihanna collaboration "Love the Way You Lie."

* Competing in the best rock category are Muse, Thirty Seconds to Mars, Linkin Park, Kings of Leon and Ozzy Osbourne.
* Justin Bieber, Ke$ha, B.o.B, Plan B and Jason Derulo are nominated for best new act.
* Perry and Linkin Park will play the annual event, slated to take place in Madrid on November 7th.
